The Proclaim™ XR is a spinal cord stimulation (SCS) system developed by Abbott, designed to treat chronic pain effectively and comfortably. It utilizes BurstDR™ technology, a form of stimulation that mimics natural neuronal firing patterns, offering relief from both physical pain and associated emotional suffering. This approach has proven effective in clinical studies such as TRIUMPH and BOLD, where patients experienced significant improvements in quality of life and reductions in opioid use.

One of the outstanding features of the Proclaim™ XR is that the system is compatible with full-body MRI scans and allows patients to control their therapy using Apple devices, such as iPhones or iPods touch.

The Proclaim™ XR has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of various chronic pain conditions, including failed back surgery syndrome, lower back and limb pain, and recently, for painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). Prior to permanent implantation, patients can perform a temporary trial of the system to evaluate its effectiveness.
