BD Viper™ LT Integrated System with BD Onclarity™ HPV Assay
The BD Viper™ LT System is a compact, automated molecular analyzer that enables the complete real-time PCR diagnostic testing process, from nucleic acid extraction to viral DNA amplification and detection. In conjunction with the BD Onclarity™ HPV Assay, it provides a highly automated, accurate, and efficient platform for the molecular detection of Human Papillomavirus (HPV), the primary risk factor for cervical cancer.
Main features:
- Full automation: reduces manual handling to less than 10 minutes per run, minimizing human error and improving staff safety.
- Continuous processing: up to 30 results in 4.5 hours, with the capacity to process up to 120 samples per day in high-throughput mode.
- Modular and compact design: It takes up little space in the laboratory, making it easy to implement even in environments with limited infrastructure.
- Traceability and quality control: The system features continuous sample tracking, temperature control, and standardized protocols to ensure the quality of the results.
Diagnostic capabilities:
- Individual genotyping of six of the most oncogenic types: 16, 18, 31, 45, 51 and 52, allowing for more precise clinical risk stratification.
- Strategic grouping of the other eight high-risk types (33, 35, 39, 56, 58, 59, 66 and 68) into three clinically relevant groups.
- High sensitivity and specificity, based on the detection of the E6/E7 regions of viral DNA, which are more stable and biologically relevant than the L1 region.
- Internal cellular control incorporated in each reaction to ensure that the sample contains an adequate number of cells and that the processing was correct.
- Compatibility with self-collected samples, a key advantage for improving access to screening in hard-to-reach populations or those with low adherence to gynecological checkups.
